Smart Link in Content Tree: Smart linking another Confluence page officially/explicitly supported?

Hello,

I was pleased to see the introduction of smart links in the content tree:

"Bring all your work into Confluence"

Standard smart links support links to other Confluence pages, naturally.

Is it officially supported that I can use Smart Link in Content Tree to link to other Confluence pages in my space?

I ask because it is not explicitly listed, but I can currently make a Smart Link in Content Tree to other Confluence pages just by pasting a link to another of my pages.

Before I implement this widely, I want to ensure that this behavior will not be removed or deprecated in the near future.
