Some Confluence widgets not always starting

Hi guys,

I am using Confluence server version v7.0.1 in conjunction with Postgres db which are hosted on a server. After the server boots up, 50% of the time the following widgets are not starting when clicking on them:

• Info
• Status
• Gallery
• Table of contents
• Draw.io diagram
• Latex Math block
• Latex Math inline
• Latex Unit
• Other macros

All the other widgets are always starting from the beginning.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Start a new page/Edit an old page
2. Click on the "+" button
3. Select one of the aforementioned widgets

Is any known bug or how can I troubleshoot this problem? For me it's a real pain as I cannot keep plugged in all the time the server which means that 50% of the time I cannot use Confluence.

Hello @Dan !

The behavior you described sounds like something that could be connected to a problematic plugin cache in your instance.

Since you restart your instance constantly, I believe that trying the procedure that clears the plugin cache will not be much of a nuisance.

Clearing the plugin cache is safe as Confluence will rebuild the cache directly from the database after the restart. It is advisable for you to schedule some downtime for the instance since the startup might take longer than usual due to the rebuilding of the caches.
