I am having difficulty exporting a space to HTML. When trying to export, Confluence reports a Null Pointer Exception on screen.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

I can successfully export the space to PDF. When exporting to PDF, it actually seems that a temporary html export is produced. Poking around the temporary folders it seems there is a copy of the html export, but I am not sure if this is a complete copy or not. I found the html export documents in:

confluence-home/temp/htmlexport

Can anyone from Atlassian comment on whether I trust these files contain 100% of the space export into HTML?

Hi,

You should not use any files that are in the temp directory during the export/backup creation process, nothing guarantees that it is not being accessed/modified at the time.

I would rather focus on the cause of the problem, I'd suggest that you check your log at <CONFLUENCE-HOME>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log for additional clues on the possible cause of the issue. I suspect this to be caused by missing pageid for one of your pages, but the full stack tract (preferrably the full log) could give additional clue.

You might want to raise a support ticket at http://support.atlassian.com including your support.zip so that we can narrow down the cause.

Kind regards,

Peter
