Status macro doesn't print color background in PDF export.

In 6.4.1, the status macro printed the colored background when utilizing the PDF export. Currently in 6.6.1 (upgraded a few weeks ago) it no longer prints properly with PDF export. Can someone test this in their 6.6+ environment and confirm?

I tried the export from the page and from Space Tools on Confluence 6.6.1 and 6.8.0 and got the same results you are reporting. It is a known issue: PDF export of status macro and emoticons will not render background color.

You may comment directly on the linked bug report to emphasize your use case to the development team.

In the meantime I am curious whether anyone on the Community has a workaround.
