Subscriptions automatically re-activated

I have a user who reports that after un-checking all subscription options, two of them are automatically re-checked:

- Subscribe to new follower notifications and

- Subscribe to recommended updates

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, reported the issue (or - even better - found a resolution)
