Table Header formatting not working since 6.8.0 - How to notify Atlassian of Bug

Jason Wolf June 9, 2018

Summary

Since installing 6.8.0 I have been having trouble getting the header formatting to work consistently.

Following a page creation, the feature works, but then, for some unknown reason it stops working and I cannot get it to work again on a page once it breaks.

Impacts the vertical column and row formatting feature.

Additional features impacted

  • On Hover > Tool Bar Alt Tag, describing icon's feature did not work

Attempted remediation

  • Reverting to earlier version
  • Upgrading, I have actually upgraded 2x, but the issue has not rectified.
    • 6.8.0 - 6.8.3
    • 6.8.3 - 6.9.1
  • User had both the Confluence User and Confluence Admin Role.

Anticipated remediation

  • I changed the table type from Responsive to Fixed Width
  • Page reloaded
  • Feature did not immediately become available
  • User then removed user from Confluence-Users group, but retained Confluence Admin role

Additional info / correction...the issue is corrected by entering edit mode and then refreshing the browser page. This re-enables the feature and it seems to then work going forward.. Hope this helps someone else with this, and let me know how I can help by logging a Jira ticket somewhere.
