I am working on improving the Search experience in Confluence. I have installed the Highlight Search Results for Confluence macro. It is highlighting the search keys in the key results. However, if there is content added in the Expand macro containing the search keys until the user clicks the Expand macro, the user will not know that there are search keys hidden inside the macro. Do you have any suggestions to make this work?
Hello @SUMMIT !
As I understand, you need a method for the highlighted words within the Expand Macro to be displayed as soon as the user clicks the search result.
What I can tell you is that the Expand Macro has no setting to auto-expand the macros within a page. There is a Suggestion that was raised some time ago but was ultimately ruled out by Atlassian:
Looking through the comments, we were able to find a customer that pointed to a workaround to the situation that relies on user macros:
This macro can be placed in pages where the Expand Macro is present and users can click to expand all Expand Macros and check if the highlighted word is inside one of them.
I hope this helps you! Looking forward to your reply.
