Unable to start confluence as user confluence

Hello

Could you please help me to understand why it is no longuer possible to start confluence as user confluence ?

So we start confluence as user root and every day we restart confluence cause not possible to modify page or not possible to connect.

Welcome to the community .

1. Please check <Confluence_Install>/bin/user.sh and see what user is mentioned there. 
See if it has confluence mentioned.

CONF_USER="confluence" ##

 2. Check if confluence user has required access to all folders


• The sub-directories of the Confluence Installation Directory:
  • • logs
    • temp
    • work
• The entire Home directory.

Steps are mentioned to create dedicated user here
