Unpublished content visible in search results- Comala Document Management

Hello,

I'm developing a workflow for the first time and came across this issue which I need to resolve.

It seems that Unpublished Content in drafts which are not visible to users without edit permissions can still be searched by them using the Confluence search bar or the search macro. The unpublished content appears in the search results but when the page is opened, it correctly shows the last published content and not the unpublished content.

This becomes a critical issue during expected content updates or changes when the authors are working on a draft to add new content which is expected by the users, so they go ahead and search it only to be deceived by it as it shows that the content is available on a page but after opening the page, they won't find it anywhere which will cause a lot of confusion.

In my understanding, this defeats the whole purpose of approvals and document management where unpublished content is accessible by users who should not have access to it until it is reviewed and approved. Also, disparity between search results and actual content on the page will create unnecessary confusion.

Is there a way to fix this or a workaround to prevent it from popping up in the search results as this is a serious deal breaker for my team and for the type of content we publish. I did reach out to Comala Support but apparently this is not supposed to be solved by an "Approval App" instead the suggestion was to use Comala Publishing but that won't work for the way we intend to set up our workflows.

Thank you for any and all suggestions.
