Update document filename per each new version?

I'm attempting to begin versioning a documentation file. One requirement of this is that each new version of the file has its filename / title updated to reflect its current version number. Is this possible? Or would I need to just side-step Confluence's versioning and make a new page each time there's a new version such that it can be reflected in the filename / title?
