Upgrade to Confluence 6.2.4 on Solaris 10

Hi all,

according to this bug https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-51847 I want to know, if it is possible to upgrade with collaborative editing disabled.

Has anyone done this already?

Yes, although I did it on a Linux box, I would not expect it to be any different on Solaris. 

I was having problems with networks allowing Synchrony to work, and we'd turned off the collaborative editing while that got fixed.  We upgraded with no problems, with it disabled, and then added it back later when we'd fixed the network config.

All the code for the version 5 editor is still fully available in version 6, and Confluence can fall back on that if there are problems with collaborative editing.  The only trick is that if you're updating from 5, then you can do the upgrade, but you will need to go to admin -> editing and disable the collaborative editing to stop it trying.

Thank you, did you read mentioned bug. This one only effects Solaris 10.

I have upgraded many Linux installations as well, but now  I have to upgrade a Solaris System. There are differences between Solaris and Linux.

Yes, it won't cause a problem because if Synchrony is broken, all Confluence does is disallow edits with it (with a pretty useless error message for the user though).  After the upgrade, just check the "use collaborative editing" flag is "off", and it'll use the old editor.
