Within the last two weeks, I've noticed that the user profile macro no longer shows the user status if someone has been deactivated from the workplace. Is this intentional, a bug?
I quite liked having this insight so that, at a glance, I could quickly update any teams who have outdated user information. It's pretty confusing to land on a team page thinking that someone is available to contact but learning later on that they no longer have access to the tool.

It might be a bug that's been introduced. You should probably create a support request to get Atlassian's feedback.
