Using Anchors on a page, link navigates to below anchor.

When using an Anchor on a page.  The url jumps correctly to close to where the anchor is, but always takes the user to three lines below the placement of the anchor.  Can anyone offer any insight?  From the server days there were other ways to link to a spot on a page but I'm not finding these methods available in Cloud.  Assistance is appreciated.  Again, this is to link from a spot on a page to a sport (anchor) on the same page.

Hi @Frank Rentef

I've always found Anchors do this, including in Server.

To resolve, place a custom anchor (not a link to a Header) into the page, several lines above the spot you're anchoring to.

So for example:

  1. Edit your Confluence page
  2. Add a macro using "/" or the "+" button in the navigation bar, and selecting Anchor
  3. Give your anchor a name, eg. Anchor-1
  4. Place the anchor 1-3 lines above the point you wish to Anchor to
  5. Go to the location in the page you wish to link from, to the Anchor
  6. Press Ctrl+K or press the "link" button in the navigation bar to insert a link
  7. To link to an Anchor on the same page, you can enter #Anchor-name - eg. #Anchor-1 as the link

Let us know if this works for you :)

Will give it a try... THNX.  What comes to mind using this technique is when the day comes for someone else to edit this anchor/scenario they may be thrown off by the alignment of the anchor to the proximity of the text.
