Using excerpts with numbered lists

Hello everyone,

I'm using Confluence Cloud and I'm having trouble using the Excerpt macro with numbered lists.

I would like to place part of a numbered list into an Excerpt macro because these steps are common to multiple pages.

However, when I add these steps into the macro the subsequent numbered steps restart at one.

How can I ensure that the numbering continues rather than restarts?

There is not a way to change where the count starts on a ordered list. Since it would be a new list outside of the macro it would start to recount.
