I created a template for a space in Confluence. Then I added a variable "MyVariable1". MyVariable1 appeared as $MyVariable1.
So far so good.
To reuse this variable in my text, I selected the dropdown-button where all the variables are stored for this template. If I click on the $MyVariable1 to insert the same variable in my text, it appears as $$MyVariable1.
So the behaviour is, that every variable which I select via dropdown gets an additional $-sign attached to it.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug, but I didn't find anything in the atlassian forum.
