Version control when using office connector in Confluence

I am using the office connector function in confluence to allow collaboration and editing of documents by multiple team members. 

This function allows us to edit documents without having to download and then upload each time but it doesn't seem to track version control. 

When using the traditional download/ upload function the confluence page will automatically version control and you can view/ revert to previous versions via the page history. 

Is there some way to automatically version control while using the office connector or has anyone found any good ways of dealing with this?

There's not currently a feature in Confluence like this, but we do have a request for it below:

• CONFCLOUD-37156 Link attachment modifications to page history

I believe that there should be an add-on in Atlassian Marketplace that would allow you to manage versions of Attachments in Confluence Cloud, so I have included your question in the Marketplace collection, in case anyone has any suggestions for you.
