Vertical headings on a table?

How do I do this in the new Confluence now? It doesn't accept the following as creating a table with vertical (column wise) headings.

||heading 1|col A1|col A2|col A3|
||heading 2|col B1|col B2|col B3|

(2) MediaWiki, www.wikipedia.com, builds the ability to sort, directly into their markup language, using this "sortable", construct:
