Hi,
we use View File Macro for presenting Office Word documents. Everything looks good, but if we have text and any part of the text has diferent colour, macro splits the text and inserts extra space before and after the text.
for example:
qos-GE0/6-out
we have GE0/6 with green colour. Macro then inserts space before and after. Then one string is splitted int to the three strings
qos- GE0/6 -out
can anyone help?
thanks
Jaromir
Hi Jaromír, great to have you here at the Community!
Well, the View File Macro is deprecated since Confluence 5.9 release. You can check this information right here:
Deprecated macros for Confluence (13 November 2015)
CONFSERVER-39829 - Plans to remove the view file macros
Eventually, this set of macros will be replaced by another solution but in the meantime they still available to use. I was able to reproduce and file a report for this behaviour right here:
CONFSERVER-56407 - View File Macro Inserts White Space In Formatted Text
To avoid this formatting issue, you could insert your word files as Thumbnails in your page:
1. Upload the file to your page
2. If it is displayed as a link, select the link and click to Display as thumbnail
- You may need to enable the Confluence Files add-on if this option is not available
3. Publish the page
4. Users are now able to click the attachment and preview it
- There was no white spaces inserted when preview was used
