We are at 7.13.18 and looks like the current version is 9.6. Can we and should we upgrade?

BILL SCHWARTZ February 17, 2023

Our license is good from another 3 months, but not sure if we need to upgrade or even if we can upgrade from 7.13 to current.

I would always recommend going to the latest long-term-support version, 7.19 at the moment.

I am guessing you were looking at Jira when you found 9.6 though, not Confluence?

Also, with a Server licence, you can upgrade to any version released before the end of your licence, so if you were to jump to 7.19 now, and Atlassian made 8.2 the next LTS by the middle of May, you can still go to that.

If they then made 8.5 the LTS in July, you're stuck on 8.2 unless you renew your licence until Feb 2024, when all support ends for Server.

Hello @BILL SCHWARTZ !

If your license is current, you should upgrade at least to 7.19 (latest version of LTS).  I don't know how much longer 7.13 will be supported as a long-term release.

Hi @BILL SCHWARTZ

Latest version of Confluence is 8.1

Also have a look to the upgrade path before upgrading, you should also check app compatibility and update path.
