We don't understand how the Disrupt cards work in the Disrupt loop play

Eg. Using the Disrupt play example  "getting from San Francisco to Sydney"... if you play the "Surprise" disrupt card, for example.. what exactly is supposed to happen?

If your ideas include: stow away on a freighter, hot air balloon, transporter, Air Mexico and rowboat... what does the "Surprise" disrupt card do to that list? 

We can't figure it out from the video or the play description!
