I'd like to create a wiki and have all my pages in confluence. Is it possible to allow other people to view my pages without a confluence account? Or would it be better for me to find wiki website to post on?
Yes, you enable "anonymous access"
And note that it doesn't have to be global - a lot of places have a Confluence with a batch of public spaces and then a whole load more that you have to log in to get to.
Have a look at https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/setting-up-public-access-156.html
