What are the credentials required for CLI with Confluence Data Center on the AWS Cloud?

James Fahrny July 20, 2020

We have installed a CLI interface for the confluence based on the recommendations in Quick Start Reference Deployment.

We are trying to create the S3 bucket from the CLI interface and also do a clone of the Quickstart Atlassian Confluence GIT structure so that we can eliminate everything of the other files except the components as defined on Page 9:

quickstart-atlassian-confluence

── submodules

        -----quickstart-atlassian-services

                ----templates

                       ----quickstart-vpc-for-atlassian-services.yaml

── templates

         -----quickstart-confluence-master-with-vpc.template.yaml

         -----quickstart-confluence-master-template.yaml

Is this able to be accomplished some other way?  Why is the CLI asking for credentials?

Thanks,

James

Hello James,

Thanks for raising this question with us. I think you might be referring to the AWS CLI that's recommended in the Quick Start guide for setting up Confluence on AWS. Is that right? I'm referring to the procedures below:

It's likely that the CLI is asking for your credentials in order to create or copy the S3 bucket. Were you able to provide it with your credentials and get past this step? If not, could you show me the exact error message and screen you'er seeing?

Take care,

Shannon
