What is the process for creating a custom multi-check drop down parameter (confluence macro)?

I have a type-enum parameter that serves as a single select field for a confluence macro. Instead of "values", I would like boolean check boxes that allow the user to select more than one value.  

Are there any existing examples and intructions for this?
