When I copy and paste from MS Word, it doesn't retain the color?

I need to create a bunch of Confluence pages from MS Word pages.  I found that if I used Import MS Word, it maintained formatting such as colored fonts, but the spacing was terrible and took ages to fix!!  So I'm copying and pasting these documents out of Word and onto pages.  That works much better except it doesn't keep the font colors.  These people use a lot of RED font spread throughout the documents to highlight things.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Thank you so much.
