Are you pasting in a URL to the JIRA issue? You can have full control over how issues are displayed if you use the "JIRA" macro in Confluence. Any field is displayable then. You can do either discrete issues or you can display the results of a JQL query.
That's the way we do it here.... works out very nicely.
