I'm being forced to use the Cloud version at my company, and I'm finding a lot of feature parity with the Server and Data Center versions that is missing.
The newest one seems to be that on the Cloud version, you cannot copy an entire pagetree (ie. a Parent Page and its corresponding Child Pages along with their attachments and any associated page restrictions) at a single go.
Is this true?
Because any Technical Writer who's had to architect a massive reorganization of documents at the Enterprise scale will tell you flat-out that this function isn't a "nice-to-have," but rather, is an absolute necessity. When you have thousands of pages to move or copy into a new hierarchy, doing so one page at a time, is insane.
Yet, if I'm reading the Cloud documentation correctly, you cannot perform even this exceedingly basic function in the Cloud version.
Along with lacking feature parity in the Editor (which is awful compared to the "Legacy" Editor), and an inability to directly control Look & Feel at the Space level unless you order a Macro Plugin, it seems like Cloud really shouldn't be advertised as a business product AT ALL for Enterprise-level applications at large scale.
It feels more like a small business product, authored by a UX Designer who thinks Technical Writers are the same as Marketers or Bloggers, and doesn't understand the serious density of material required for true Technical Writing.
I mean, even down to the leading of paragraph text, which is too wide, fonts that are too large, way too much white space, and nonsense like compressing the page into a central channel thereby losing 2/3rds of the screen real estate. It's as if whoever's designing this version, thinks you do technical writing on your phone, not on a desktop.
Please tell me either that I'm wrong, and there is some way to natively move/copy entire pagetrees ALL AT ONCE without having to buy a plugin. And if this is not possible, tell me which plugin I must now ask my company to spend extra money on, and then explain WHY you're not achieving feature parity on Cloud with other versions, while pretending that it can still be used for Enterprise-level functions.
Hi @Zod
The solution 2 available on this article also applies for Cloud, through which you can copy the child pages and attachments to a new space. You can test it and see if that helps.
