Why can't I manage watchers of a space?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Manage Watchers

I am admin of the space but I can't manage watcher of the space only the page

Why?

You can add/remove watchers either for Space or for page.

Go to the Space main page, click Watch, click Manage Watchers and add users in right column to watch Space.

I have the same problem. When I go to Watch screen, I dont find any option saying "Manage Watchers". Please help is some other settings are required even I own the page.

I have version 5.8 of Confluence, I guess I need to upgrade first.
