I mentioned a github url to a public repo in my confluence doc, and opening it is asking for Oautth, linking github to confluence.

It says "You don’t have access to this link. Connect your account to preview links"

What's the right way for such situations?

Hello @Aakash Choubey,

Welcome to Atlassian Community, and thank you for contacting us about this. I've encountered this before, and the feature is part of the Confluence Smart Links. Confluence will automatically format certain links when you go to insert them in the page.

In this case, it tries to display information from the repository in a way that it requires you to login in order to do that. I've gotten in touch with the editor team about this in the past, and we're looking at ways to change that behavior. In the meantime, if you don't want it to do that, after you paste the Github link, you can do CTRL+Z (CMD+Z on macOS) and it should just revert the link back to the way you pasted it.

Can you give that a try?

Thank you!

Shannon
