×What happened to the Copy option? Change can be a good thing, but change for the sake of change is not a good thing. I had to waste time figuring out what happened to the Copy menu item. What is the purpose of renaming an option aside from confusing users? Others in my organization feel the same way. On the Jira side, what purpose is making something that used to take one mouse click to now taking two or three?
Hey there @Mark Dietel ,
Renaming the Copy action to Duplicate was intended to prevent accidental clicks from users trying to 'Copy Link' instead of 'Copy Page'.
Changing terms that most users are already familiar with is certainly confusing at first, but the intention of this change was to add clarity to the action being performed, and not cause more confusion.
Also, notice that this is not a definitive product change yet, so not all users will see the Duplicate action. I'm sure our Team will update all relevant documentation to reflect the changes when it is fully implemented.
Hope this helps! =]
Hi @Mark Dietel
It always is something, provide it as feedback to Atlassian via the feedback option (right bottom corner)
As the documentation still says "Copy" -> https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/move-copy-and-hide-pages/
The naming in Confluence now says "Duplicate", via the 3 dots behind a page!!!

Totally agree. We have to rewrite our manuals, because inexperienced user are looking for "copy" and only see "duplicate". This leads to extra questions and needless back and forth.

I see it more of an issue for experienced users that have been using the feature for years and it is suddenly gone. The first thing I was thinking is I forgot where the copy button is located. When I couldn't find it was thinking they removed the feature. Change is inevitable in this industry, but the pros and cons should be carefully considered. In this case the reason is pretty lame in my opinion.
