Why does importing an Word document now use the filename as the title vs the document header?

So, could someone explain to me why importing Word documents with a document Title in the header no longer imports as the document title, but rather the file name is now used?

This creates more work in our process, and certainly does for others. So I don't know if this is a bug, or someone's whim idea that Word document titles don't matter anymore?

Hi @Scott Vallery welcome to the community.  I do see that importing a word doc uses the file name instead of the document title.

From this importing article I found regarding importing into Data Center it appears there is an option to enter a title for the new page.  (Even that article mentions using the file name as the page title).

It doesn't seem that functionality is available in Confluence Cloud at this time.  My guess is many people don't use the Document Title in their Word docs.  You could confirm with Atlassian Support if this is how that functionality works, and if not, you could always create a suggestion on Atlassian's Jira Site.  That could possibly be included in a future cloud update.

Hope that helps.
