Why does my confluence installation think 12 users are connected?

I placed a ticket asking how to remove users from Confluence, CA-1704655.

This is not the cloud produce. It us the server version. I have 10 licenses and the product shows 12 are connected. I do not want 12 connected. The last support issue gave suggestions that did not work. Confluence is mission critical for us. I need help asap

Thanks

It shows you 12 because that's how many users there are on the system who have active license. Go to User management and see how many users there are, remove those who do not need access to get back to <= 10.

Note that it's "how many users have active license", it is not how many are currently logged in, the user count is the factor here.

You don't have to delete them, if you remove the 'confluence-users' group, that should work too. Licenses are group-based. There are several "confluence-" groups out of box. Just remove those from them. You can see which groups are used for what permissions in Global permissions section.
