Why does the Copy Tree functionality not allow permalinks to work?

We have installed Scroll versions trial - specifically since we would like to have duplicates page titles in one space. Using Copy Page Tree to copy a range of pages updates both the permalink and the page title with the suffic/prefix supplied. This is problematic - since we really want to have the same page names.

There is a workaround for this. 

Instead of linking to a page by looking it up, paste the link in the "Web Link" field.
