Wiki Markup to Add Macros

Charisma Riley

When I go to the Header and Footer section of the Look and Feel of Space settings, there is this statement: "Customise the look of your space with a header and footer. Use wiki markup to add text, links, macros and images (from the web or attached to a page in the space)." However, when I go to the linked page, there is no mention of how to embed macros using wiki markup. Is the answer somewhere else maybe?

Thank you!

Hello again, Charisma!

That depends on which macro you want to add. Have a look at the list of available Confluence macros here. If it is possible to call a macro using wiki markup, it will be listed on the page for the given macro.

Let's look at the Cheese macro for example, and you'll see at the bottom of the page, the wiki markup example:

Wiki markup example

Wiki markup is useful when you need to add a macro outside the editor, for example as custom content in the sidebar, header or footer of a space.

Macro name:  cheese

Macro body: None.

Parameters: None

{cheese}

Give that a try, and let us know if you have any questions about it.

Regards,

Shannon
