My Word document imports produce a lot of "Unknown Attachment" errors.
What's weird is that I've imported a document into Confluence, with rather small PNG pictures in it. These pictures fail to import--they don't appear in attachments and create "Unknown Attachment" errors on the page.
Now... I can import the exact same document (again), and the images/attachments will successfully import with no error. So, I assume the issue is a random issue/bug within Confluence?
Anyone have any guidance or have experienced this before?
Hello @BAPrice and welcome to our Community!
Yes, these things, unfortunately, may happen from time to time. One of the possible reasons is described here
Attachments become 'Unknown Attachment' in the page editor with Collaborative Editing turned on
You can also look for all the unknown attachments, please, refer to the similar question

and the article
How to detect unknown-attachments error in your Confluence instance
Hope it helps.
Thanks, Grigory. I checked, and Collaborative Editing is turned off.
Is there perhaps a log that could provide additional information about the import and what is happening? I can only assume there is some glitch in the import process if the exact same document is rendered in 2 different ways: WITH and WITHOUT error.
