can you limit attachment history / versions?

Is there a way to limit the number of versions of a document that conflunce maintains?

For example, I would like to be able to specify on a space or globally, retaining only the last 10 versions (history) of an attachment.

I'm afraid not. There is an existing improvement request raised here, fyi: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-7260. However, no development is implemeted yet. You may watch the page for any future updates by the development team.
