If you want to copy a page and its Children - including their attachments - you might want to get the "Copy Page Tree" plugin - I am a huge fan as it has made my life for configuring new Spaces with a default page structure very, very easy
Depending upon what you want to do with the document you might consider using the page include macro. If you want to version a document for instance between different spaces certainly you would copy it, but if you simply want to have the same document in two different spaces you should have one that is the authoritative version and the other that simply includes the content from the other page. That way when you update the original the other one is updated as well.
