I have made a multilayer diagram in draw.io.
The first and main layer has the full diagram with toggles added to every shape to activate/deactivate the other layers.
The other layers always contain 1 or more of the shapes that are on the main layer.
I have added tooltips to the main layer.
Is there a way to automatically get these on the other layers too? Or is there a way to make sure that all changes I make to the shapes on the main layer also happen on the other layers where the shape is present?
Hi Kelly,
Really great question. I would suggest making a feature request to have the other layers use the tooltips as well. Please visit our GitHub page and check out some of the discussions there.

Hi Kelly. Adding up to what my colleague Neghena wrote, I wanted to add some more information. The feature you request is not available yet. You can use tooltips as placeholders (see https://www.drawio.com/blog/placeholders for a detailed blog post), which does exactly what you requested - except the fact that it works over several layers. Placeholders require all shapes to be within a container shape on the same layer. If you move one shape to another layer, that shape will fall out of the container shape. So requesting this feature via Github is the perfect way to contact our engineers. We can't promise that there will be a solution to your use-case, but we will do our best :D

Thanks. I have been using the placeholders indeed ;) I was just hoping for a way to add the tooltips easily. I shall make the request and keep my fingers crossed!
