gallery macro - labels behavior

vrgl2 March 23, 2018

 Instead of the behavior described below, in my environment, the match is OR, not AND.

Any idea what might cause this?

Include Images with these Labels Only
(includeLabel
None. The images are not filtered by label.Filters the images to display, based on a list of labels. If you wish to enter more than one label, separate the labels with commas. Confluence will show only images that have all the labels specified. (The match is an AND, not an OR.) For information on labeling the attachments, see Add, Remove and Search for Labels.

If your environment, matches with AND, it behaves exactly like the description says:

"The match is an AND, not an OR."

@Thomas Schlegel thanks, I corrected the question. It is the other way round instead.

@vrgl2

Could you please explain your setting a little bit more (labels, settings of the gallery macro, maybe screenshots) ? It is difficult to say anything more without these informations.

Say I have a page with the following 5 images with the given labels: cheese, pic, random.attachments.png

According to the documentation, adding a gallery Macro with Include Images with these Labels Only set to random, pic, cheese should display only attached image bla.png (the only one that's containing all the labels). instead it displays all images, because each one has at least one of the 3 specified labels.

Confluence version: 6.2.3

@vrgl2

Thank you for the example, I see the same behaviour in my Confluence installations 6.7.0 and 5.10.7.

You should raise a support ticket here: https://support.atlassian.com/

Thanks for confirming.

I will post the solution here in case i'll be given one.

They confirmed that the match is OR and not AND. It seems that the documentation is messed and the macro behavior is correct. The documentation should be updated soon. Thanks for suggesting contacting them, @Thomas Schlegel
