how to change language for current session

Sven January 13, 2014

Hey Guys,

our anonymous user should use the confluence menu in their language as well.

is there a possibility to change the language of the current session by clicking a link like ?lang=en_US

I only have found the links on the logon screen, but our users are anonymous so they wont click on login first :)

Any suggestions for me?

Best,
Sven

Hi sven,

you can choose between different language settings in the confluence profile. default is, that confluence take browsers language settings. so, when i configured english in firefox, the user will get the english interface and when i configured for example german language in internet explorer, then confluence will show me the german interface in internet explorer.

regards, christina

Hello Sven,

As far as I know, the language of the Confluence menus depends on the Browser language.

We had just the opposit requirement: we wanted the menus to always be displayed in English. To achive that, we had to change a Confluence setting. (Confluence 4)

Cheers,
Kirstin
