how to emded smart portal search in external website

Hi, we are using Jira and Confluence Server . I would like to deploy a custom portal in an external website and have the same functionality as in JIRA Service Desk Customer Portal.

My question is related with the Knowledge Base. Basically, I would like to ask how can I embed the smart portal search in my website? I want the customer to type in keywords in the search bar and have the suggestions of some confluence space appear as a drop down list. Check the screenshot below:

There's a feature here that you can vote on that is to embed Customer Portal functionality into websites:

• JSDSERVER-23 As a service desk customer, I would like the ability to embed the service desk portal into another website

Otherwise, I'm not aware of a way besides iFrame that you might be able to do this. Hopefully the community might have a better answer for you there.
