Hi @Lu Zhang

Only org admin can do that. Do you have any other admins to help you?

Thanks,

Hi @Lu Zhang welcome. Here’s the quickest path depending on your situation:

If your Atlassian account is managed by an organization (you normally sign in via company SSO)

Ask your org/site admin to reset or turn off 2FA for you. When SSO or enforced 2FA is enabled by a company, only the admin (or your company’s identity provider) can lift it.

If it’s a personal Atlassian account (email + authenticator)

  1. Try a recovery code (the one-time codes you got when enabling 2FA). Any unused code will let you in so you can then turn off 2FA from your account security settings.

  2. No codes? On the 2FA screen, choose “Can’t access two-step verification?” to trigger the account recovery email.

    • Check spam/junk and any filters.

    • If it’s a work email, ask IT to allow Atlassian messages; some domains block them.

    • Wait a few minutes and avoid requesting too many emails at once.

  3. Still no email? You’ll need Atlassian Support to manually verify ownership and reset 2FA. If your account is company-managed, the request should come from an org admin.

Once you’re back in, I recommend re-enabling 2FA and securely storing fresh recovery codes so this can’t lock you out again.
