linked an action item with a Slack message

Is there a way to link an action item with a Slack message.  in other words, it would be great to update action items with a note/message so that you don't need to directly ask the owner of that action item the status.

While it's not currently possible to modify tasks in Confluence using Slack, I created a feature request for this below:

• API-174 Ability to update tasks through Slack
