We want to host confluence ourselves

I have an existing on-demand confluence instance. How can I export my spaces from on-demand and import it to my own hosted solution?

I understand the method is to raise a support request, and they'll export what you need and send you the file you need to import. I'd expect some back-and-forth - you'll need to have a specific date/time to do it, and you'll want to do some testing beforehand, so I'd raise it early in your planning phase.

If you just want to export your individual spaces, you can do this yourself without any involvement from Support. Please see this page for documentation on how to do this.
