please suggest me how to do.

Hi Team,
we have some users in Jira Internal Directory now i want to migrate them into Active directory 
1.does i lost the user history in jira?
2.here some users are same mail ids but username is different when compare with AD and JD. how to migrate them into AD?

Hi @Mahendar 

To migrate the users to the AD, create the user with the same username in your AD.

Next connect  your AD to Jira and ensure you sync users property for username equals value of username in current Jira else you would get duplicate users.

Once you are done, synchronize the AD and move it above the internal directory.

Please test the steps on a test instance before you attempt it on your production instance. Document your exact steps that worked and redo these in production instance.

If the username is the same you don’t lose user history.

Either rename AD to same username as in Jira or else you will create a duplicate user which is a pain to fix as it must be done on the database.
