properties defined by a 'Easy Dropdown Menu' Macro not detected in a page properties report

EtienneD June 15, 2023

Hi,

I have a template with a table bearing properties so that I can make reports on them. I use that template to produce my pages.

One of the properties of the pages ('Criticality') is filled thanks to a predefined 'Easy Dropdown Menu' Macro.

Strangely, in the page properties report, 8 pages (over about 300) do not show any 'Criticality' value whilst the 'Criticality' property is well defined (not left blank) in those pages.

Therefore, any report made that page properties report (i.e 'pivot table' or 'chart from table') show that 8 pages have a blank 'Criticality' which is obviously wrong.

I have tried to copy the 'Easy Dropdown Menu' Macro from another page, and to change its value, with no success.

Any idea or help will be welcome.

Thanks for your help

Finally found the reason for that strange behavior on those few pages: a badly drawn properties table on those pages.

Are any of the limitations listed here at play?

For these pages not showing a value, is the 'Criticality' dropdown within an expand macro or some other type of nesting?

Could another option, such as the Status macro, work for your needs?

Thanks for your answer, Matt. I've learnt some interesting things in your links.
However, that behavior comes from a badly designed properties tables in those pages (and as I wasn't the author of those page, the reason why there were designed in a different way will remain a mystery to me :-/)
