search option is not working before I hit the enter button

When I entered farm in search option its not showing the list of files.

I have a couple of questions to have a better understanding of the issue you are facing with the search:

1. Is the issue only happening with the search team "farm"?
2. Is the issue faced by a single user or all the users?
3. Were any changes performed like upgrade or migration after which you have started seeing this issue?

The application logs will undoubtedly explain the cause of this issue, however, the search issue is mainly related to the corrupt indexes. I would suggest you plan a maintenance window and perform the steps mentioned in the below document:

Do you have any error log ?

When you click on enter does it redirect you to the issue, Issue Navigator or show you the list of results ?
