security issue of confluence

If we receive the message in my confluence lab environment as shown as below:
Intrusion detection system detect someone try to attack to access the folder of /etc/Web-etc/passwd-Dir-Traversal
How can we do about it ? Is operating system security issue or confluence security issue? Thanks a lot.

Operating system.

Confluence doesn't use the /etc directory.
