the license key is not working

im getting   

"That's not a valid license key."

i just updated license

Ok, there's not a lot to go on there.  There should be more of an error message, but if not, we'll need to know the *exact* steps you have gone through: how have you taken the key from your atlassian account through to the confluence licence page?

renewed license for the correct product 

copy pasted the new key into the panel in admin settings

 

this is where the error appears

Ok, that's not quite what I was hoping for, but let me explain why.  All too often, we hear "I just copied and pasted the licence" and find out that is a huge oversimplification, and actually the cause of the problem.

What I am hoping you are doing is:

  • In a compliant-standard browser, open my.atlassian.com and go to the licence list
  • Click on the licence-key box for Confluence
  • Double-click or select the whole key
  • Hit ctrl-c or edit -> copy
  • Open a second tab or window into Confluence, login as an admin and go to the licence page
  • Clear out or select the whole existing licence
  • Paste the new one in

What usually happens here is people don't tell us "we copied the licence into word/text-editor/email and jumped through another 12 things that might affect the content of the text".   In almost all cases, we see people going through things that interpret spaces or line-feed/carriage-returns incorrectly.

Is the really simple process what you are doing, or are you going through anything else at all?
