I'm attempting to connect two projects in jira to their pages in confluence. They are the same cloud instance. I've done the linkages on both sides to the Space and Projects.
In Jira they are two separate projects.
In Confluence each Jira Project has multiple pages in the same Confluence Space.
I am failing when it comes to connecting to the Top Page for the Project. I can connect easily to the Space - but the Space is for the entire department and the important information for the team is about 4 layers deep.
When I open the Connect project to Confluence from Jira, it has 'Choose a space or item to connect to your project.' What constitutes an 'item'? I imagine if I can make the page an Item it will propagate onto this list of things I can select to link to.
(My current work around is to use the hyperlink to connect to the top level page for each project - which defeats the purpose of the 'pages' functionality.
Hello @Garth Smitman
An "item" in this context is a specific page within a Confluence space.
If you pull down the selection list you will see a list of Spaces followed by a list of Items (i.e. pages).
If you type in search criteria the list will condense to Spaces and Pages where the title contains your search terms.
Almost. I mean, I do see pages - but they all appear to be Legacy pages - pages we migrated over 5+ Years ago. The search fails to return the recent pages - pages we've created over the past 2 years and updated within the past 3 months.
Is there something, a 'trick' to get these recent pages to be in the search? Even if I copy/paste the page hyperlink it doesn't work.

I am not aware of any date related restrictions being applied to the search results.
How much of the page title are you entering into the search field? Do you have a large number of pages that match the search terms?
There may be a limit on the number of items returned by the search. It looks like the search returns a maximum of 25 matching pages.
Try entering the complete title for the target page. If your target page's title is contained within many other pages then I would suggest temporarily changing the page title to something more unique that you can zero in on in this search, then connect the page to Jira, then rename the page again.

Fortunately, the page title is quite short with only 12 characters. When I use the Confluence Search, it is at the very top of the list of results. It is the only page with this name in the Space, and the only page with this name on my Instance.
However, I do notice that the string of 12 characters does appear within the names of many other pages.
Ah! The 'trick' of changing the name (I replaced spaced with underscores and added 'zz' in the middle to make even more unique), allowed the search to find it. Thank you for that. I'll use that technique again when this happens.
