why am I not seeing the Gantt chart

I am not seeing the Gantt Chart view. Id don't show up on my left side navigation bar as I have seen in all the documentation I have seen. Thought maybe I had to create it as a board, but I am not finding the option anywhere. Is it a setting I need to turn on, what am I missing?

It is the roadmap Planner what you're looking for.

If you write in any page you'd like to add the gantt chart /roadmap it will appear as option.

I am assuming you are talking about Jira.  In Jira you will need to use the timeline view.  https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/what-is-the-timeline-view-and-how-do-i-use-it/
